I BELIEVE ART MAKES THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE.

These are four of my mixed media works on paper that are based on memories of travel that will be included in exhibits this summer. I believe art makes the world a better place.

Sunset in the Woods

These monotypes with collage are Sunsets in the Woods 1-4. Another year of no travel. I did many works on paper of landscapes from memory and what was in my mind’s eye. One evening I looked out my living room window and saw an amazing sunset. Mother nature is the best artist! I finally got back to the printing press after 2 years and was able to print monotypes again which I then collaged on. I have seen many sunsets and only a few sunrises since I am not really a morning person. Nature nurtures us and I create art that is a mixture of what I have seen with my eyes and the truth of what I see in my heart. Through my art, I strive to create an appreciation for natural beauty and a concern for its preservation.

Sunrise at the Jersey Shore 4 Appreciating the natural world around me since travel has been off the table for two long years. I especially love watching the sunrise (not so often) and sunset which I can now do every night from my living room window since we moved. I can also see the sunrise from our bedroom window but usually get up too late to see much. I have more images to add and will soon...

Countryside Collage 4- mixed media work on paper It has been almost 2 years since I have done any traveling. Since there is no new travel, I am left with remembered images and my imagination to create imaginary landscapes. I create art that is a mixture of what I have seen with my eyes and the truth of what I see in my heart.
